Illness In The Community

With the high rate of flu and gastro related illness currently being experienced in the North Otago community we would like to remind parents and caregivers that if a student is unwell, they are not to return to school until 24 hours after the last symptom has passed. This includes fevers, vomiting, diarrhea etc, but also lesser symptoms such as headaches, general nausea etc. It is important to help the wider community keep outbreaks at bay.

If a student has an NCEA assessment, please do not have them come to school "just for the assessment". You can get a medical certificate from your doctor and contact Mike Seddon who can help apply for an extension so that the assessment can be done when the student has recovered from illness.
Hand washing is a good way to help combat the spread of illness
