Principal's Comment

Kia ora Kevinians and Supporters of the College

It was a pleasure to be able to support Kalas Taukamo and Tiana Mansfield as they received the Mana Pounamu Tuakana and Teina Awards last Friday evening in Dunedin. Mrs Plunkett and the other students who accompanied us were inspired by the calibre of students who received awards. I was very pleased that we could for the first time perform the school haka in support.
On Saturday evening I attended an outstanding performance of "Our Town" by our drama students. I  left feeling that drama within the College is in great heart. Thank you to Ms Walshe for the time and energy that she has put into this event which is the culmination of an NCEA assessment.
Thank you also to the fabric technology students who displayed their work on the stage before the performance. The garments being modelled were of the highest quality and showed creativity and skill.

On Wednesday, the weekly assembly was handed over to our senior student leaders. They took the opportunity to thank the staff and students for their support while at the school. The College performed a haka to the seniors at the conclusion.

Finally, this evening Mr Fowler, Mrs Clapperson, Mr Smith and I will be supporting our nominees at the Aoraki Sports Awards to be held in Timaru. We wish everyone all the best for the event and safe travel.

May God bless you
Paul Olsen, Principal
