Relay for Life was a first time event for Oamaru but that didn't stop 54 teams, including 4 from St Kevin's College, raising over $75,000 for Cancer research in New Zealand. For 24 hours team batons were walked or run around the 400m track that was lit by candlelight through the night - the candles there as a dedication to those who have lost their lives to this disease. Students said that it was a very tiring 24 hours but a heartfelt event that was well worth doing.
