Y10 student Ben McCarthy took to the field for the Otago U15 Mixed Touch Team for the national competition, held in Auckland over the weekend. With three or four games over each of the three days, and fourteen teams chasing the title it was an intense competition and the young Otago team secured 5th spot over all. Also in Auckland was Rose McCarthy and Gypsy-Mae Harihona-Harrison (both Y12) who had been given the honour of being selected to travel to the competition as referees. With an air of professionalism they refereed a total of 8 games, including in the U17 division. Well done to you all!
