Drive To Survive

Mark Whittet tries out a rally car, packed with inbuilt safety features.
Yesterday Y12 students from the College attended the Drive To Survive Expo which was held at the Waitaki Recreation Centre.  The afternoon was structured into three workshops, all looking at making the right decisions and choices - Modified Vehicles, Physics Of A Car Crash and You Can Make A Difference - before coming together to hear The Human Cost which included a talk from Danny Hartigan of Dunedin.  He talked about the consequences of his experience, the effects of it and about loosing a friend.  The were also able to watch how emergency services work when confronted with an accident in a simulated scenario.  Thank you to everyone who facilitated this valuable day.
