Year 11 PE Camp

On Monday Year 11 PE classes went on their outdoor education camp to Chinaman's Hut in Dansey's Pass. Over the three days students learnt how to develop interpersonal skills linked towards NCEA credits, as well as organising their own groups with equipment, food and cooking for themselves.

On Tuesday they climbed Mt Cone where they saw some spectacular 360 views of the Maniototo Basin and Waitaki Valley.

A big thank you to Mr Smith for his organisation, and Mr Olsen, Mr Harris and Mr Tatupu for their guidance and supervision on the camp.

Year 10 Outdoor Education Camp

The time is approaching for the St Kevin’s College annual Year 10 Camp. This camp is an extremely enjoyable experience for our students, and often becomes a highlight of their time at the College.

Students will experience tramping, kayaking, swimming, boating, mountain biking and team building activities, while also taking part in other fun exercises throughout the three days. Along with these rotations, the students will also learn about the rich history of the area while they are there.

This year the camp will be held at Lake Benmore Falstone (Tōtara Peak Station) from Monday 7th - Thursday 10th December.

All Year 10 parents / caregivers have been emailed the relevant information about the camp and the consent form. The consent form is due back on the 19 November.

If you have any questions please contact the Camp Coordinator, Mr Mat Harris on mharris@stkevins.school.nz

School Holiday Netball Tournament

SKC Netball hosted the Year 9 and 10 Verdon and Cromwell teams over the last 3 days. Our Year 9 and 10 teams played both of these teams twice. It was a great few days with a lot of learning on and off the court.

On Tuesday night they had a combined potluck dinner at the old girls hostel where each team performed a skit. As you can imagine, there was lots of fun and laughter! It's fantastic we have this facility as a place to host teams or groups who come to stay in Oamaru!

Thanks to the coaches, managers and the girls for participating. Enjoy your season.
