Pounamu Taonga Ceremony

The Pounamu Taonga (Greenstone Treasure) Ceremony was held at the last College assembly of the term. The majestic greenstone piece, which was a gift to the College and usually resides in Mr Olsen’s office, was the focus of our liturgy. The qualities of beauty, strength and resilience were used to inspire our Senior A & B Netball girls and our 1^st XV Rugby boys to perform to the best of their ability in the Waitaki Inter-school, as well as to farewell our five German GAP students as they complete their year at the College. The College performed a spirited haka at the conclusion of the School Prayer.
