Competitors gather before the race for the Down Hill Briefing |
On Tuesday 11th September, 10 boys from St
Kevin’s College braved freezing weather conditions to compete in the Aoraki
Secondary School Mountainbike Championships at Herbert Forest. Seven boys
competed in the Cross-Country event while three dared to take on the Downhill.
Despite the cold (and the snow!), they all competed in good spirits with the
day’s best results belonging to our U19 cross country boys: Benny Yanzick won
the event while Hamish Nimmo was third – well done boys! Huge thanks are due to
Mr Chris Bisschops and Mr Paul Botting who transported and supervised the team
on such a wintry day!
