Yesterday Yr 9 and 10 students were privileged to hear Apirana Taylor, a nationally and internationally published Maori poet, short story writer, storyteller, playwright, novelist, actor and painter! Both his poetry and short stories are studied in secondary schools for NCEA, polytechnics and universities. Afterwards Apirana spent time with the Kapa Haka group sharing with them his knowledge of Maori instruments and their history.
