Thomas Pickles (Yr11) has been invited to Sydney by Jason McLauchlan to train and play for a tournament at the end of the month. McLauchlan, previously from North Otago, is very prominent on the Sqaush circuit in Sydney as a top coach at the North Shore Lane Cove Squash Club. He is also the Director in charge of Events and Tournaments for NSW Squash.
Thomas was invited to travel to Sydney after McLauchlan returned to compete in the recent Oamaru Open. Thomas is extremely excited about the prospect of the additional training and experience that will come from the trip. He leaves on 25 November and will receive daily training sessions before competing in a Lane Cove Tournament on the 29/30 November and then returning home. Congratulations Thomas and all the best for the competition!
