Easter Liturgy 2015

The Holy Thursday Liturgy was held in the Chapel on Wednesday instead of normal Assembly. The Liturgy focused student’s attention to the true meaning of the Easter celebrations – the Death & Resurrection of our Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ. The centre piece for the Liturgy was the Y13 Student Leaders re-enactment of the Passover Meal, the last meal Jesus shared with his Apostles before Jesus execution on the cross. Our Catholic community are familiar with this occasion known more commonly as the Last Supper. While the drama portrayed the prophetic words of Jesus to his Apostle a short video followed showing the some of the suffering Jesus endured for mankind’s sins. Prayers were read by Student Leaders and a thoughtful rendition of ‘Awesome God’ was sung by the whole school. Mr Olsen then explained the difference between a crucifix and a cross while the Liturgy concluded with Father Wayne giving his Easter Blessing and wishes to all present.
