Service In Action

On Friday 24 June seven SKC students completed the installation of a raised timber vegetable ​​​​garden box at Iona Rest Home. Their efforts were part of an EdRice Service in Action project. The boys involved were Thomas Pickles, Max Stewart, Matthew Cullimore, Joel Pickles, Joseph Moffat, Hamish McAtamney and Liam Elliot. Under the leadership of Thomas the boys firstly took a brief from Iona manager Mrs D. McCone and resident Mr K. Sim, then designed, priced and the purchased the materials required. The boys prefabricated the wooden sides off site then transported them to Iona where they assembled the garden box to the delight of the Rest Home.
