On Tuesday evening, the long-awaited Work Ready Passport was launched by the Waitaki and Waimate Mayors. This combined secondary school initiative has been supported by our local Rotary Clubs and the North Otago Chamber of Commerce. I presented an introduction of the Passport to a packed gathering at the Business Hive in Ribble Street. I would like to thank fellow Principals and Student Leaders for their support and acknowledge Mr Lane, from Waitaki Boy's High School, for the support he has given to us throughout the development of the Passport.
The passport will help students collect evidence that they have demonstrated they have the "soft skills", required by employers. Thank you to everyone who has supported us in its development.
Finally, all the best to those competing in the South Island Secondary Schools Rowing competition this weekend. May you have calm water and safe travels.
