Kia ora Kevinians and Supporters of the College

Summer sports are in full swing with everything from touch and tennis, to cricket and rowing underway. Congratulations to the Novice Women's Eight who received a  silver medal at the National Championships held last week.

A number of interschool and knockout cricket games have been fiercely contested. It is pleasing to see some promising results following on from such passionate practice in our new nets. Today we are playing Kavanagh in Dunedin. Congratulations to Lachlan Brookes for his score of 133 as we racked up 281/4.

Thank you to our boarding and catering staff for the work they have undertaken to make the Year 9 and Year 10 functions such a success last weekend. It was an honour to be able to meet caregivers and extended family in such a convivial setting at Redcastle. This was an opportunity to talk to whanau on a personal level, which helps us to get to know our young people and their families in a context wider than the traditional classroom environment.

Also on a sporting theme, congratulations to Anna Craig (trap shooting) and Caitlin Middlemiss (trampolining) on their nomination for the Junior Sportswoman award at the upcoming Waitaki Sports Awards. We wish you all the very best!

This weekend, our Student Leadership Team will be travelling to Auckland with Mr Mullally for the annual Edmund Rice Schools Leadership Camp. We wish them safe travels and look forward to their trip report at a future assembly.

Finally, please continue to keep Anish and his family in your thoughts and prayers as he recovers from his injuries in Dunedin Hospital.
