Welcome back to the final term of the College year. Spring blossom and unsettled weather are always good indicators that we are in the final weeks for seniors. As I am catching up with details following my sabbatical, I would like to take this opportunity to thank Mr Ryan and the management team for stepping up in my absence. I have been following developments and congratulate the College on an outstanding term of engagement and achievement.
I was particularly pleased to share in the sporting journeys of students over the holidays. We will be acknowledging these, in particular, the basketball and trapshooting teams results in the coming weeks.
My personal congratulations to all our sporting teams and coaches for a superb winter season.
On a special character note, during the holidays a group of staff lead by Mr Mullally attended a gathering of Dominican educators in Invercargill. The focus was on integrating the Dominican tradition into a curriculum in a modern and relevant way for 21st C learners. The picture below shows the warm welcome we and our local Dominican Sisters received at the Bluff Marae.
Mr Mullally also took a group of students to the Edmund Rice Street Retreat in Christchurch. Both of these events deepen our connection to our Catholic charisms.
Ngā mihi Nui
