Thank you to Mr Harris for coordinating, and thanks to all those who donated and supported this worthy cause. We raised over $300 for the Mental Health Foundation!

Caritas Committee 2020

Our Caritas Committee 2020 received their badges from Father Wayne at a recent Mass. Our Student Committee is made up of Year 12 students Harriet Heaphy, River Cunningham, Elizabeth Plieger, Rhea Ratgali, and Committee leader Michael Misiloi.

The Caritas Committee meets once a fortnight. A supportive Caritas Crew is also in formation (a student initiative). New members are very welcome- please see Michael Misiloi for more info.

Two Caritas leaders from 2019, Scarlett Smith and Lena Black, also met with this year's team to help them organise 2020's first school-wide activity; a well-supported mufti day where we raised $595. The money was raised for Caritas' global Covid-19 Pandemic Appeal.

Kidney Kids Can Fundraiser

You may remember us posting a while back about cans being collected by the school Leo club. The money from the sale of the cans goes to help the Kidney Kids Support Group of NZ who support children with kidney disease. These cans were handed over to Trish Hinton from North Otago Lions to go for sale.

The boxes shown represent about 3 weeks of collecting at school and we will continue this as it is a great way to recycle, as well as benefiting others. Thank you to the students who have made the effort to put their cans in the pink bins, keep up the good work!

Leos Club Fundraise for Kidney Kids Organisation

The SKC Leo's Club in partnership with the Lions club is now collecting aluminium cans for recycling, with proceeds going towards the Kidney Kids organisation.

If you have any aluminium cans lying around home (not tin cans like spaghetti) please help them out by bringing them to school to be placed in the pink bin found in the lower quad.

Thanks to Mrs Hesselin and the Leo's club for starting this initiative for a great cause!
