Kia ora Kevinians and Supporters of the College
The leaves on the oaks at Redcastle are showing their autumn colours and the heating system is getting it first work out as we commence term two. Students have been trying to remember how to do up their tie and are settling back into a routine this week.
We are pleased to be able to share some of the exciting tales from the travellers returning from China, Cuba and Australia. Next weeks assembly is dedicated to sharing some of the images and video that have been captured. My deep thanks to those to have chaperoned these trips and shouldered the responsibility for our young people overseas.
Today we have held the first Student Lead Conferences. They have been well received by those I have talked to during the afternoon. We had a number of volunteers to help out with the creche which is an initiative staffed by Mrs Haig. Thank you to our team for your enthusiastic support.
Our teachers have undertaken professional development from leading educator, Margaret Ross, and have been looking forward to facilitating students to share their learning portfolio with whanau. Next week we will be sending out a survey to get your feedback on how we can further develop this process. I would also like to reiterate that you are most welcome to make an appointment with an individual staff member as a follow up from today's conference.
May God bless you all
Paul Olsen, Principal
