The visit of the White Ribbon Riders with their anti-domestic violence message has been a focus in the College this week. On Tuesday, we had five teams from our school enthusiastically participating in a short video competition held at Waitaki Boy's High School.
The projects were focusing on family violence issues and were supported by the Etu Whanau, local secondary schools, Youthline, Safer Waitaki, Waitaki District Council, A Stones Throw Productions, Waitaki Multicultural Council and Oamaru Police. I would like to thank all the students involved for their passionate contribution to this venture. Thanks also to the mentors who gave up their day to support each group. Mr Van Booma from WBHS provided the following link to the student work.
Yesterday we welcomed the Riders to the College and students had the opportunity to hear their address and talk to them personally after the formal welcome.
Next week we head into junior assessment week. I wish students well with their final assessments and encourage them to do some extra revision to ensure they are well prepared.
May God bless you all
