Our next SKC Sporting Blue past recipient to highlight is Jane Watson!
Jane received Sporting Blues for Netball in 2005 and 2006. During her time at school Jane made the Otago U19 Netball Team, the Otago NPC B team, the South Island Secondary Schools Tournament Team, was a reserve for the NZ Secondary School Camp, made the Rebels Development team, and the NZ U19 Tournament Team.
Jane has gone on to play over 100 National League games (and counting), playing for the Tactix between 2012-2014, Southern Steel between 2015-2018 then returning to the Tactix where she became captain of the side in 2019; in 2017 she was named the ANZ Premiership Player of the Year; made her Silver Ferns debut against the England Roses in 2016; was part of the Silver Ferns World Cup winning side in 2019 and now has 37 caps; in 2019 she took a clean sweep of the major Tactix awards being named player of the Year, Players' Player of the Year, and the Member's Player of the Year.
