North Otago Basketball Collegiate Finals

St Kevin's had 3 finals to playoff on Wednesday night. The Yr9A boys played OIS Makos for the Yr9 Championship. After a slow stat Josh Macaulay, William Sunderland and Raji Singh got the game under control leading by 10 at the end of the 3rd quarter and held that through to win 47:36.

Next was our Yr10A Girls vs WGHA Red. Our girls came out strong, quickly springing out to lead 20:0. With Merekite Wahitapu, Shannon Vince and Helena Graham playing big roles, we switched to playing the whole bench and enjoying the match. Ashley Te Maharoa and Rose Anderson took this opportunity to shine with the final score a great team win, a convincing 79:19.

The final game was our 10A Boys vs WBHS Juniors. They came out muscled up and outplayed us. After beating them all year it was unsettling and it took the lads some time to get their game back. Thanks to Kaz Kobayshi and Hamish Robertson who held them close till Jashiv Narayn and Josh Botting stepped up and took us out to an intense low scoring win 17:24.

We were proud to congratulate Helena Graham and Hamish Robertson who were awarded the Best and Fairest Awards for the competition and all of the players were presented with their trophies at the College Assembly on Thursday. An excellent effort!
