Top Spots At Lions Young Speechmaker Competition

Head Boy and Deputy Head Boy, Jibi Kunnethedam and Ben Latavao, have taken the top two spots at the Lions Young Speechmaker Competition which was held in Oamaru on Sunday.  Jibi took first place with a speech about teenagers in today's society, while Ben centred his speech on the urgency of poverty.  As well as giving a prepared speech all of the competitors were given one minute before presenting an impromptu speech on "opening the doors to our futures".

Public speaking is well practiced in all areas of the College and the success of students in this area is always rewarding to see.  The national finals will be held in mid August in Auckland.
