Last night the Moon Festival was celebrated at the College and we were delighted to be joined by Dr Adam Lam, Mrs Hong Hu and others from the Confucius Institute at the University of Canterbury for this inaugural celebration. The festival is celebrated on the fifteenth day of the eighth month of the lunar calendar, when the moon is at it's roundest and brightest, and is a truly family occasion. The St Kevin's family celebrated with an introduction to the festival by Dr Lam, followed by several demonstrations including Kung Fu, Calligraphy and tea tasting. The evening finished in the Food and Nutrition Room with dumpling and moon cake tasting. Thank you to the Confucius Institute and College staff who help facilitate the evening.
