The Waitaki Multicultural Council provide a variety of support services to help newcomers settle into Oamaru and its surrounding areas. The Newcomers Network and Migrant Services are available to help you make new friends, connect with the community and assist with any settlement challenge.

Born and bred in Oamaru, Waitaki Newcomers Network coordinator, Christine Dorsey, is a wealth of local knowledge and a friendly, joyful place. She runs regular connection groups and outings for newcomers including a coffee group, a walking group, meet-and-share and excursions to some of the areas most beautiful places.
