Four students completed the Expedition
sections of their Gold Duke of Edinburgh’s Hillary Award over the past two
weeks. A final practice to Chinaman’s
Hut, where the new door was given a coat of paint (Bright Red), and then the
qualifying expedition in the Hopkins Valley.
This effort was over four days and had to be planned entirely by the
team of four. In beautiful weather,
Trampers and their “Shadow Party” enjoyed an eventful and satisfying experience
in a stunning mountain setting. Kaleisha Jones, Sara Gunnarsdottir, Logan
Chandler and Mitchel Bolstridge were followed by Mr Dixon and Mr Collins.
