Principal's Comment

Kia ora Kevinian's and friends of the College

NCEA examinations have been the focus for our seniors this week. Students have settled into the routine and most of the examinations papers have received  favourable comments from both staff and students. Mr Dixon and our guidance staff are still available to offer support to students who have issues over this stressful examination season. Thank you to Mrs Potter and her team for the support given to the NCEA staff running the examinations.

Our promotions team has had a presence at the Christchurch Show in the later part of the week. Thank you to Mr Brand, Mr Fowler and Ms Walsh for helping with the College display.

It was with sadness and regret that I accepted the resignation of valued and long serving Assistant Principal, Mrs Austin, yesterday. Mrs Austin will be retiring from the College at the end of the year and we wish her every blessing as a new chapter of her life unfolds. I will give more details about a function to acknowledge Mrs Austin's contribution later in the year.

I am pleased to announce two appointments for next year. Firstly, Mrs Sutton will take up the Maternity Science position replacing Mrs Beckingsdale. Secondly, Mr Nyika will be returning to the College as a Social Science teacher with responsibilities for Deanship in the Hostel. We welcome you to the Staff team and hope your tenure with us is positive and rewarding.

Finally I would ask you to remember Mr Burton and his family in our prayers as they mourn the loss of his mother who passed away on Thursday.

May God bless you. Na mihi.
Paul Olsen, Principal
