SKC Clay Target Team conquer Wanaka and Alexandra

The SKC Clay Target Team competed in two events over the weekend with impressive results.



At the Wanaka Intercollegiate Shoot on September 1, the boys competed against 16 other squads from schools from Timaru to Invercargill. They won the teams event with an excellent score of 290/300 in the Points Score - their nearest competitor, Central Southland College, finished on 271. Ryan Kennedy took out the High Overall Score for the event. Clark Ewing and Corbyn Hocken took out first in the Skeet team event. Other results as follows:

The second day of competition took place at the Alexandra Taieri Shield on September 2. All 5 boys qualified as highest scorers, to represent Otago Region in Down the Line (DTL) and Corbyn and Clark qualified to represent Otago in the Skeet. Corbyn and Clark elected to shoot Skeet and as the two events run concurrently, two Otago shooters were needed to make up the DTL squad. Shooters from WBHS made up the final spots and the team went on to play Southland, winning the event 117 to 114.
Corbyn and Clark won the Skeet Challenge for Otago, 66 to 65. 

All boys shot 10/10 in the single barrel competition (only allowed to use one barrel of the gun) - an amazing feat for all the boys. Corbyn also took out the High Overall Score
Jack Murphy gained his 50 Badge in the weekend, this means he has shot 50 targets in a row without a miss.Other results as follows:
