This year St Kevin's College is funded for 12 students to study GATEWAY as one of their subjects. The aim of GATEWAY is for the students to do industry training by studying a programme supplied by the Industry Training Organisation (ITO) while experiencing one day a week Work Experience.
Henry Wallace applied to be placed on the GATEWAY programme and set up his own Work Experience placement with Mr Russell Bryant at Laser Electrical. Every Wednesday Henry goes out for a full day Work Experience and works on his ETITO programme. This has been a positive experience for Henry and has the potential to lead to and Electrical Apprenticeship when he leaves school.
