Principal's Message

Dear Parents and Friends of St Kevin's College

This week at the College there has been something for all of our students with a range of curriculum activities, the annual St Bede's inter-school as well as rehearsal for the upcoming House Drama Evening.

Senior students in particular have had the opportunity to fine tune career options, beginning on Monday with the Aoraki Careers Expo in Timaru which was attended by our Yr12 students.  Our thanks go to Mrs Manson for co-ordinating this for our students as it is an extremely valuable day and is always enjoyed by those who attend.  Liaison visits with Victoria University and the Otago Law Faculty were also available for Yr13 students interested in these areas of study.

Some extra time during lunch on Tuesday enabled students to support our boys playing in the St Bede's Winter Sports Exchange.  There were some pleasing results and images from the day are shared later in this blog.  However, it must be said that the Special Character of the College that was displayed both on and off the field was pleasing to see.

We were delighted to welcome Karen Healey, a talented young adult author, to the College to speak with Yr13 English students in a Writing Workshop and our thanks to Mrs Austin for arranging this wonderful opportunity.

Please note on your calendars the upcoming House Drama Evening, which will be held on Thursday 21st June. While it's a little way off, rehearsals are well under way and it already looks to be a great evening.

Finally we look forward to Confirmation on Sunday and hope that many of you will be able to join us at the Basilica, at 9.30am.

God Bless You All
Kerry Ryan - Deputy Principal
