Mr Haig Takes A NZ Team Spot

Last weekend Mrs Haig (and young William too) traveled to the Hawea to watch Mr Haig compete in the Contact Energy NZ Freestyle Kayak Championships for 2013.  Despite some tough competition Mr Haig took 2nd place in his section and secured himself a representative place in the NZ Open Men's Kayak Team.  He will join ex-students Jason Searle (also in the NZ Open Men's Kayak Team) and Courtney Kerin (NZ Open Women's Kayak Team) in the New Zealand contingent at the ICF Freestyle World Championships in the USA in September.  

St Kevin's College has a history of kayaking successes over recent years and the international representation of both pupils and staff is inspirational to those looking at this growing sport.  Congratulations Mr Haig!!
