Congratulations to our SKC rowing team, along with Coaches Owen Gould and Stew Mitchell and Manager Kate Mihaere, on a fantastic outing at the South Island Secondary Schools Regatta over the weekend.
Julia Fauth and Tiana Mihaere gave everything to cross the line first in the U16 Girls Double Sculls, standing proud on the top of the podium with their gold medals. Both girls qualified for the A final in the U16 Girls Single earlier in the day and Julia went on to take the silver medal in that event.
Charlie Wallis, Reuben Mihaere, Adam Sew-Hoy and Kalas Taukamo - coxed by Cushla Houlihan - made at least one B final in their events, as did Meg Knowler and Casey Gordon. Lauren and Brooke Parsons put in some solid work during their heats. These are all performances which will secure the future of rowing at the school.
