Sandlewood Trophy

Monique on 'Bruno'
Yesterday the SKC Equestrian team traveled to the Geraldine Pony Club to compete in the Sandlewood Trophy.  Disappointingly one of the horses puled up lame so the team were not in a position to place, but all of the students came away from the day with personal bests.

Caitlin Middlemiss competed for the first time on her new mount "Penny" and had an excellent day in both her dressage and jumping.   Georgia Sillibourne jumped a new height, despite a very stubborn "Bess" and Monique Sage, on "Bruno" had her best ever jumping and dressage results.  Ella Sanderson faced the challenge of competing on another rider's horse and managed the dressage and had a clear jumping round on a horse she had never ridden before.  A big thank you to Tyler Ward from Waitaki Girls High School  for offering Sharne Paton's horse to Ella so she could compete!

A special thank you also, to Richard Shefflebien for the great looking new saddleblankets!
