The Y11 Retreat took place at the Moeraki Marae last Friday. Students enjoyed warm and sunny conditions on their journey to acquire knowledge of Kawa, Tikanga and Maori Spirituality. Marae facilitators Nola and Patrick Tipa engaged students in group reflections and feedback sessions inside the meeting house. They also took them on a walk to view ancestral burial grounds overlooking the original beach settlement. Prior to departing the students performed a rousing Haka before Mr and Mrs Tipa to show their appreciation of the teachings they had given them on this Retreat.
