An Enchanting Evening

Enchantment was the theme for our College Ball and this began at the Ball Parade with Helen Mulheron playing "Some Enchanted Evening" as the students paraded.  Ball gowns of every design and colour were amazing.  However the "wow factor" had to be the girl's shoes - high heels took on a different meaning.  Many of the boys wore ties to match their partners dresses and all looked very smart in their suits and tuxedos.

Following the Ball Parade the students were piped up to the Dining Room by piper, Chris Olsen.  The Home & School had organised a candlelit walkway up past Redcastle and on to the "Enchanted" Dining Room where students were greeted by the official reception party before dancing the night away.  Queues of students lined to be photographed, with the enchanted swing and rotunda being very popular.

Congratulations to all those who's tireless efforts went towards a truly magical evening.  Thank you to Anne Marie Forgie, the Home & School members and the Ball Committee for transforming the Dining Room into a wonderful Enchanted Ball Room.  Once again Linda McLelland and her team provided a superb meal.

  1. I would like to congratulate the SKC Ball committee and staff for the outstanding organisation of the Ball. I enjoyed the Ball Parade very much as in Hokitika we have to stand outside in the cold, watch the children arrive in all manners of vehicles, and they practically run into the hall without anybody really seeing the girls gowns or how handsome the boys look in their suits. Well done St Kevins.....
