Aoraki Mathematic Champions

On Wednesday eleven Year 9 and 10 students traveled to Timaru with Mrs Potter to compete in the Aoraki Mathematics Competition.  Our Year 10 team were victorious defeating 23 other teams to win the Year 10 trophy.  

The team members were Georgia Malcolm, Eva Liardet, Mitali Singh with Year 9 student Jino Kunnethedam standing in at the last minutes as the team runner due to illness.  The team lead from the start and answered 19 out of 20 questions correctly in 30 minutes. Each team member won a Graphics calculator.  

The two Year 9 teams were placed 13th equal from a field of 24 teams.  Congratulations!
