Yesterday the College gathered in the Chapel to celebrate the feast of the Assumption, the principal feast of the Blessed Virgin, where we commemorate Mary's departure from this life and the assumption of her body into heaven. Just as Mary had faith in Jesus, students reflected on those people who have had faith in them during their lives and have empowered them to have the confidence to achieve.
We were joined by our visitors from Obirin High School, who were presented with their commemorative certificates - a memento from their time with the St Kevin's College Community. Our thanks to Mrs Campbell and Mrs Phillips for co-ordinating a range of lessons and activities and also to the many families who welcomed students into their homes during their stay in Oamaru. They return home this coming weekend having enjoyed a very positive international cultural exchange.
