World Championship Medal

Congratulations to Johannah Kearney and crew-mates Kelsi Walters, Sophie Shingleton and Holly Greenslade who will return from the Junior World Rowing Championships with a bronze medal.

In their semifinal on Friday the girls were pipped into third behind Germany and China, but this was good enough to see them in the top 6 and secure a place in the A final.

An amazing row in the final saw the girls lead early on.  They were overpowered by  favourites China (gold) and the US (silver) but managed to keep the Australians at bay to claim their place on the podium and the bronze medal.

Well done Johannah!  This is a fantastic result and very deserving for many hours of training.

If you are feeling inspired by Jo's success, or perhaps by the gold-medal winning ways of New Zealand's Olympic rowers, now is the time to try rowing for yourself! Go on - become part of St Kevin's successful rowing history!
