Visitors from Obirin High School are welcomed to the College with a Powhiri on Monday morning.
We are pleased to welcome to the college this week, 16 students, along with their School Principal, Mr Eiichi Honda and deputy Principal, Mrs Kimiko Sugimoto, from Obirin High School in Japan. The group arrived on Sunday and will leave on the morning of Saturday 18th August.
The students are staying with local families and we are grateful to them for opening their homes to these young visitors. During their visit the students will study English language with Mrs Phillips, join St Kevin’s “Buddies” in their own classes and have excursions.
Obirin High School is located in Machida City, Tokyo, Japan and includes students at Junior High, Senior High and Junior College levels. Including the University area, up to seven thousand students study there. It derives its name from “beautiful cherry orchard”.
